About

Hi, I'm Dave Anthony

A Sydney-based Registered Music Therapist who believes therapy works best when the person in the room gets to lead.

My name is Dave Anthony. I have been a Sydney-based Registered Music Therapist (RMT) since 2002, and since then have worked in lots of different therapy settings.

Now, I mainly work in adolescent and men's mental health, but I also like to help people of all ages with disabilities. That's why I am an approved NDIS provider.

My musical interests are varied, but my main love is contemporary pop music, so my therapy often includes beat making, songwriting and recording.

I also help out lecturing the Master of Creative Music Therapy students at Western Sydney University.

What "client led" means

The name says it. I think people are the experts in their own lives, and in their own musical interests. My job isn't to teach you to be a good musician or to fix a diagnosis. It's to create a safe, playful space where you can lead, make mistakes, and discover that you're more capable, connected and worthy than the labels might suggest.

Whatever music you're into is okay by me. Whether we're making beats, writing a song, recording, or just talking over a game of UNO, every moment holds an opportunity for growth.
